What do you get in the box

You will get a three person swing with a steel powder coated frame.  The dark brown canopy will be made from a polyester material and the sand colored seating will be made of a sling material.  I have the sling material on several sets of chairs and they are very comfortable without cushions.  They dry quickly when wet and require little or no cleaning.

The seating is separated into three different chairs on one frame.  Each seat will support 250 pounds for a total of 750 pounds for the swing.  The seating will be 65.75 inches wide for the three butts, or just under 23 inches for each butt and be 19 inches off of the ground.

The swing is supported by the top frame and is hung by a big spring on each side for comfort.  The frame is 83.5 inches wide, 48.5 inches deep and 66 inches tall.  The canopy will attach on each end of the top rail of the frame with an adjusting screw.  If you loosen the screw you can change the angle of the canopy or just remove it when not needed.  High winds will damage this canopy as the swing is not that heavy to hold it down in heavy winds.

The Sand Dune collection has many other styles of outdoor furniture to choose from to match your swing.  See some that I have reviewed here.

Mainstays Sand Dune swing frame and canopyAssembly and care of your 3 person patio swing

As with other outdoor swings, you must assemble the frame first.  A Phillips screwdriver will be needed along with the included tools. Start by putting back and front legs together as pairs, then attach to the top bar.  Add both side bars, then back bar.  Adding plastic feet will finish assembly of frame.

Assemble seats together with the bottom and back brace bars.  Add left and right arms then attach a pair of hanging arms to the chair assembly.  The springs will keep the top of the arms together and will attach to the top arm of the frame to support the swing chair.

The canopy will require some stretching of the fabric over the frame ends, some customers had the most trouble with assembly with this step.  The frame connectors need to on the end frame parts first.  The long frame parts must be put through the canopy.  The end frame parts then connect to the long frame parts.  Then you will need to stretch the canopy over the end frame and insert the four corners of the canopy into the corners of the frame.

With a helping hand lift the canopy to the top of the frame and insert the adjusting screws on each end.

Care of you swing will require only a mild soap and water.  Do not use any harsh chemicals as they will ruin the powder coated finish and the paint will begin to peal.
